The Real Reason Most Heroes Don't Wear Glasses!!

Linda Danvers is out shopping for groovy clothes, when a very odd shopkeeper steps in...

Of course, it's a plot by shiftless aliens!

Kara even has to wear them when she goes into action as Supergirl!!

But she's under the alien's control...so a quick visit to Metropolis!

Wait--is that a tiny, Atom-sized pair of glasses? Yes, yes it is!

So, while Kara manages to escape, Superman goes all Amway on the Justice League:

Fortunately...

Whew...that was close.

Too soon, though, as we never got a change to see Hal or Ollie wearing those glasses over their domino masks...

The moral of the story: get contacts.

From Adventure Comics #423 (1972)

You can tell that Hal is just giddy at the chance to shoot Superman in the face. Granted, he'd prefer Batman... but he'll take what he can get.

So let's see... Superman comes in wearing glasses. First he tries to trick the rest of the League into wearing glasses, and when that fails, he tries to force the glasses on them. Supergirl tells Hal to destroy the glasses Superman is wearing, but Hal has no idea how that could possibly help. You're not very bright, Hal, are you? Don't ever change, buddy.

I think everybody in the League must fantasize about shooting Superman or punching Batman at some point. Lucky Hal, he got to do both!

Does Aquaman get goggles?

He does get goggles! And one of those little nose-pinchy things you wear around your neck!
