Bold Fashion Choices--All-New, All-Daring, All-Stupid!

There have been many, many (MANY) stupid costumes for Spider-Man over the years.

But probably none stuoider than this:

Oh, 1990s...

Here's a shot less confused by chromium-cover-itus:

See, a bunch of fourth-rate villains teamed up to form "The New Enforcers," and despite the fact that he could take on the flipping Sinister Six in his regular costume, Peter decided that he needed a special armored suit for this occasion. Because heavens knows, a team that includes the Vanisher, the Eel and Plant-Man requires special armor to fight them...

Of course, the armor was destroyed before the story is over, but Spidey wins anyway. So at least the ridiculous gimmick for the round-numbered chromium encrusted giant-sized anniversary issue didn't infect our long-boxes for too great a period of time.

Then again, wasting a 100th issue to feature such a one-off, inconsequential thing is sooo 90s...

The 90's are indeed a wonderful parade of horribles in comics...I'd love to see how they made PlantMan Totally Extreme!

I owned and still own this comic. It was terrible.
