Manic Monday Triple Bonus--In The Metropolis Justice System...

So, to recap the two previous posts, Clark Kent has to make a documentary about Steve Lombard, which includes filming his workout at the gym, for some reason.

But, there are also evil Superman puppets hanging around Metropolis, and Superman has to get his but out there to investigate. (SPOILER ALERT--no, it's not Toyman).

How does Clark solve his conundrum?

Wait a minute!!!

That was kinda harsh there, Kal-El. I know Lombard's a jerk ,but geez--a vicious faceplant resulting in unconsciousness?? With the attending brain and/or neck injuries??? Really?!?!?

You see, Kal-El, I don't know how they do it on Krypton, but here on Earth we call that assault, and that's a felony. You're looking at jail time (unless you roll on Batman...)

You know, this makes me think--Law & Order: Metropolis would really, really rule.

But...Marvel has Matt Murdock and Jennifer Walters...does DC have any super-powered lawyers? None are coming to mind at the moment...

In the DC justice system, the people are represented by separate yet equally important groups--Cary Bates, who writes the story, and Curt Swan & Murphy Anderson, who draw it. This is Superman #269 (1973).

And, yes, I just did three posts about a story wherein Superman fights evil Superman puppets, and I didn't even show the puppets. Be patient...

OK in the golden age, the Red Bee was a District Attorney. Remember he had.. um.. bees. Yeah, best known now for being a bitchy ghost in starman. Second, not quite classic DCU but Icon which is published by DC is a lawyer in his civilian life. Also, I think that black lightning at least did some politics, maybe community activism. Don't know if that counts.

Can't believe you're forgetting about Manhunter!

Good point...obviously my DC omniscience isn't quite up to the level of my Marvel minutiae. In my defense, there have been ,what, 12 or 13 Manhunters? Who can keep track?
